PARSOL Artistic Expression Forum Planned for May 24

Artistic Submissions Due by May 17th

Join us for an evening of artistic exploration and heartfelt expression at the PARSOL Artistic Expression Forum on May 24th at 7:00 p.m.

Unlock the power of poetry, paintings, drawings, sculpting, and various art forms to convey the registry’s impact on individuals. This event is open to all, including Persons Forced to Register (PFRs), their loved ones, and advocates. Participants will be allotted 3-5 minutes to present their artistic creations and share their stories.

If you need some motivation for what to create, we suggest creating something that shows your personal support network and those who nurture you.

You could:

  • Draw a “comic strip” showing different types of support.
  • Draw yourself in the center of a circle, surrounded by all the people who nurture you.
  • Draw a picture of what the road to freedom has been like to you. Place yourself (it can be a stick figure) where you are along the road, add in representations of supporters along the way.
  • Write a poem, song, or letter expressing your gratitude for those who nurture and support you.
  • Create a photo collage of your biggest supporters.

Multiple submissions may be made per person. We will try and include at least one item per participant.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage, empathize, and explore the transformative power of art in our community. We look forward to experiencing your creativity and sharing this meaningful dialogueRegistration Details

Participants may opt to simply attend or (preferably) submit a picture or PDF of their work and an artist statement via the form below. Please submit all artwork by May 17th.

Entries may be displayed on our website or included in an upcoming PARSOL newsletter or publication. (Participants will be allowed to use their full name, partial name, or a pseudonym.)

You must RSVP to get the link to submit artwork.
